đź“– Bible Verse:
“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”
— Numbers 23:19 (ESV)
Devotional:
In a world filled with broken promises, shifting opinions, and unreliable words, it is comforting to know that God cannot lie. His character is unchanging, His words are always true, and His promises will never fail. Unlike humans, who may speak falsely out of fear, ignorance, or deceit, God is perfectly faithful.
From the beginning of time, God has made covenants with His people, and every one of them has been fulfilled. When He promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, it came to pass. When He assured Israel of a Messiah, Jesus Christ came to redeem His people. His Word is a firm foundation because truth is not just something He speaks—it is who He is (John 14:6).
Because God cannot lie, we can trust Him completely. When He says He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6), we can hold on to that truth. When He promises that those who believe in Jesus will have eternal life (John 3:16), we can rest in that assurance. Even when circumstances seem uncertain, His Word remains our anchor.
Are you struggling with doubt today? Are you questioning whether God will keep His promises to you? Remember, His faithfulness is never dependent on your circumstances—He is unchanging and trustworthy.
🙏 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God who cannot lie. In a world of uncertainty, I find peace in Your unchanging truth. Help me to trust Your promises, even when my faith is weak. Remind me daily that Your Word is sure and steadfast. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
