Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
DEVOTIONAL
Life moves fast. Our minds are filled with worries, to-do lists, and endless distractions. Even when we try to focus on the Lord, our hearts are restless. But in this verse, God calls us to be still—not just physically, but deep within our souls.
To “be still” doesn’t mean to do nothing; it means to stop striving, to cease from anxious toil, and to rest in the knowledge that God is sovereign. He is not overwhelmed by the chaos of the world or the burdens we carry. He is seated on His throne, ruling over all things with wisdom and power.
This command comes with a promise: “I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” No matter how uncertain things may seem, God’s glory is sure. His kingdom will stand. And because He reigns, we can trust Him fully.
Today, take a moment to pause. Lay your worries before the Lord. Be still, and remember who He is. He is God—faithful, mighty, and in control. And that is enough.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to quiet my heart before You. In the busyness and troubles of life, remind me that You are in control. Teach me to trust in Your power and rest in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
