Psalm 27:1 (ESV)
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
DEVOTIONAL
Fear creeps in when we forget who holds us. The storms of life rage, uncertainty presses in, and our hearts can grow weary. But David, a man who knew trials and enemies firsthand, declares boldly: The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
This isn’t blind optimism. This is faith rooted in the unshakable character of God. He is your light when the path is dark. He is your salvation when the battle is fierce. He is your stronghold when all else crumbles. If Christ has conquered sin and death on your behalf, what can ultimately shake you?
Let this truth sink deep today: You are held by the Lord Himself. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t face it alone. Walk in confidence—not in yourself, but in the One who never lets go.
Prayer:
Father, when fear rises in my heart, remind me of who You are. You are my light, my salvation, and my stronghold. Keep my eyes fixed on You, and strengthen me to walk in faith today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
