“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
DEVOTIONAL
We live in a restless world—always moving, always worrying, always striving. But in this verse, God calls us to be still. This is not mere passivity but an invitation to quiet our anxious hearts and trust in His sovereignty.
Psalm 46 was written in the midst of turmoil, yet God declares His rule over all things. No matter what chaos surrounds us, He is in control. His plans will not fail, His purposes will stand, and His name will be glorified. Our job is not to fix everything but to trust in the One who holds everything together.
Perhaps today you are weighed down by uncertainty. Maybe fear grips your heart. The Lord says, “Be still.” Stop striving. Stop worrying. Acknowledge that He is God, and rest in His faithfulness.
Prayer:
Father, I surrender my worries to You. Teach me to rest in Your sovereignty and trust that You are working all things for Your glory. Quiet my heart and help me to be still in Your presence. May I exalt You in my life today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
